Privacy & Data
PepRecon is a small research-and-education project run by an individual (DREGS). It is built to need as little of your data as possible: the calculators run entirely in your browser, there are no user accounts, and there is no advertising or third-party analytics tracking. This page explains the few cases where data does leave your device, what is stored, and how to have it removed.
The short version
- Calculators run locally. What you type into a calculator stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere, unless you deliberately create a share link.
- No accounts. We never ask for your name, email, or a password to use the tools.
- No ad tracking. No advertising cookies, no analytics profiles, no data sold to anyone.
- You can delete anything you created. See Deleting your data.
Share links
Most calculators have an optional Save / Share button. Only when you click it do the values for that calculation get sent to our server and stored under a random link ID, so the link can reproduce the result later. For most calculators this is just numbers (vial size, dose, volumes). For the Plan and Rotate tools a share link can include a titration schedule or an injection-site log you built. Share links contain no name, email, or account, and are stored until you ask us to remove one.
COA Reader uploads
If you use the COA Reader and upload a certificate (image or PDF), that file is sent to an AI service (Anthropic) to read the printed text, and the original file plus the extracted fields are stored so the shareable result works. Upload only lab certificates, not personal documents.
Logs, cookies, and rate limiting
- Server logs. Like any website, our server briefly records standard request information (including IP address, timestamp, and browser user-agent) to operate the service, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse. Rate limiting uses your IP address in memory to stop flooding.
- Cookies. We use only functional storage: your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser (local storage). No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Who else touches data
We keep third parties to the minimum needed to run the site:
- Hosting (AWS). The site runs on Amazon Web Services, which processes traffic on our behalf.
- Google Fonts. Pages load fonts from Google's font servers, which see your IP address as part of serving the font files.
- Anthropic. Only for COA Reader uploads, to extract text from the certificate you submit.
We do not sell your data, and we do not combine it into advertising or marketing profiles.
Deleting your data
Because there are no accounts, the only data tied to you is anything you chose to save (a share link, or a COA result). To have a share link or COA result removed, email us the link and we will delete it. You can also ask what, if anything, is stored for a link you created.
Contact: email us for deletion requests or any privacy question.
Children
PepRecon is intended for an adult research-and-education audience and is not directed to children.
Not medical advice
